About Me

My name is Tariq El-Jumaily

I consider myself a knowledge-hungry and quick-learning student currently enrolled in an Msci Computer Science with a Year in Industry course at Cardiff University, set to begin September 2024. I am experienced in programming languages, project management, mechanical engineering, and Python-oriented programming, with a deep understanding of computer systems and structure. I am and always will be determined to contribute and learn anything that I can to any team that I am a part of and I am dedicated to making a difference by always seeking new opportunities and experiences.

As of writing, I have developed 3 publicly available projects with many more on the way. Hover or click on the image for more information.

work

Incoming!

My first publicly published project - At 12 years old, I decided to learn to create my own game in a 3D engine. I eventually released it in 2020 with immediate success as it reached no. 69 on the app store for racing games before slowly declining. It has since been taken down from the app store.
work

Sewer Adventures

I entered the Brackeys Game Jam 2021.1 and teamed up with a musician and another developer to create a game in one week based on the theme of working together. Out of ~2000 people who entered, our project came #291. This experience helped me improve my communication and teamwork skills. We used Github to stay organised with each other.
work

Mechanical Arm Prototype

At my school, I was nominated to apply for the Arkwright Engineering scholarship and was tasked with engineering a project of some sort, I spent 2 months designing and building a robotic arm using a Raspberry pi and python which could be controlled via any web-enabled device. Unfortunatley, I was not successful but it was a great engineering learning experience for me.
work

FutureVision

As part of my extensive Computer Science A-Level coursework, I decided to create and build an app focused on improving the quality of life for those with potential visual difficulties. By using HuggingFace and OpenCV for Unity, I was able to create this iOS app and document the entirety of the journey.
